| I never thought of this...but does anyone know if a "copper dip" would work and still be safe for a reef tank? _________ Tank Specs:

Bruce, I'm thinking no, since the fish would have the copper on it and in it, when you put it back into the tank and a minimal amount of copper and/or brass(I've found) will kill inverts

| Let me tell you first hand that brass is a no-no. I had to brass fittings in my system for about a month. To this day I still cannot put inverts in the tank (4 months of placing poly filters in it every week to rid the tank of Copper). Kills them immediatly. Might be worth a try but sometimes the local fish store (LFS) can place them in a medicinal tank for you.
