Default engineer goby injury ANY ideas appreciated

i came home from work and my engineer goby was laying across the top of the rock it looks like its got a bad injury about 4-5 inches up from the end of the tale and had a pretty good slime coating im figureing from stress. there is nothing in the tank the could have hurt him as far as critter wise and am guessing that maby a rock shifted and it got pinned under it. but i also dont seen any rocks that may have moved unless it was one underneath. any suggestions for this type of injury? he looks like the only fish hurt and my other engineer goby keeps comming otu and laying his head on the hurt one. i tried placing food in front of its mouth hopeing it would eat. shuld i hold out and keep trying or try sumting else guys?

Any update on how your goby is doing?? and what did ya do?

One suggestion is to get him in QT and get some med. to prevent an infection but then I dunno if that my stress him out more.... It's hard not knowing what would be the best......

Yeah, I think they are nice looking too!! Everything I have read said they do better in pairs or schools, So I would get a replacement if I were in your shoes.
Sorry for the loss, you've had these guys a couple of years too...
