| disappearing ick? okay I am crazy. I saw these little white spots all over one of my clown this morning at about 6:30 am ( I had my son look and he saw them too) When I got home at 9:30 am and checked the fish they were gone. Where did they go. I read some articles on ick and from what I understand the white spots should be there for a while before they fall off. My fish didn't have any spots yesterday. I watch them all very closely to make sure they are all eating and that they are acting normal. I drive my family with how much I watch my fish. My clowns like to swish the sand with their tails could've this been sand? My husband thought that was what it was but I didn't think the sand would stick to them. I guess I should watch them for a few days. I have a fire shrimp do they clean parasites?
Thanx

My cleaner shrimp (skunk) actively pursue the fish. The fire shrimp that I have seen clean has only done so if the fish sits in front of it and does the "presentation, what are you waiting for clean me" look

| I bought some garlicXtreme from the lfs. Does this help? I am a little confused about the instructions. It says to soak the food at the ratio of 2 drops to one teaspoon. That is way to much food for one sitting. I only have 5 small fish. Can I treat one teaspoon and save it? How exactly do you soak all the food? 2 drops is not that much fluid. Do you add water? Would it be better to just add 10drops to the tank? Is this less effective? My clown is acting fine. She is active and eating so far.

| I have heard "read" good things about Garlic Xtreme. Yes, you can save it as long as the food doesn't spoil, I would refrigerate it until the next feeding. What type of food do you feed your fish? The Kent Marine site says that you can add it directly to the aquarium at a rate of 1 drop per 10 gallons. I have never done that nor do I know of anyone "yet" that has done so. Maybe someone else who has tried it will speak up...........

  | Tmkx3, Garlic xtreme is a very good product. I use it in my 90 and everyone says i have a great looking tank. Now i know it is not because of the Garlic but that will help your fish fight out parasites that normally will attack your fish.
also the little dots on your fish could have been sand, food and even air bubbles. What other fish do yo have in your tank. If you have any tangs and they do not have the dots then your clown is fine it was not ich. |

| My fish don't seem to like the garlic. Is this strange? I alternate between formula 1 and a flake food. The formula 1 makes my water cloudy. I feed it twice a week. |

| I've had ick and garlic never seemed to work. Most of my fish didnt like it.
Ick will come and go on fish sometimes daily until one day it will set up permanent residence on your fish and kill them. Its a delicate balance of the fish fighting off the ick. _________ 75g reef with Nova Extreme 8 bulb HO T-5 lighting, refuge, Remora skimmer, DSB, Seio powerheads, Acro's, LPS corals, assorted zoo's & mushrooms, Yellow Tang, Maroon Clown, Blue Cleaner Goby , Cleaner, Fire and Sexy Shrimp, Coco Worm, T.Crocea Clam, Derasa Clam

| nothing ever seemed to work for my fish when they got ich, but ever since i added a uv sterilizer i havent had the problem. i know many people dont like them in a reef tank, but it works for me.
if it is ich on your clown, chances are it'll beat it. they are pretty strong fish.good luck.. |

| Is it possible that the spots you saw on the fish micro buubles. I know tiny bubbles stick to my fish ocassionally. |
