Unhappy death to my black mauritian clown fish

my clown fish died of a fungus the guy at the fish shop told me that it breaks down the mucus film around the fish(dont know what its called?) ..will this affect my tank at all as the anemone , gobies and elegance all look okay ..

this happened all within 48hrs as i noticed a little on him yesterday morning , this morning he's coated completely swimming vertically but eating okay, i go to the fish shop to get supplies and advice get told to fresh water bathe him . when i got home (within 1/2 hour) and hes pretty much laying on his side lifeless

Sounds like an inexperienced SW clerk. No insult intended. a FW dip will not cure any sort of fungus, nor will it kill most sw parasites. Put a pic up and i could probably help solve it if possible.

i rang the guy at the shop to ask him the name of what he said i have (i am trying to put up a pic of the fish but photo too big will keep trying)
this:

Brooklynella Hostilis

This parasite infection is commonly known as "Clownfish Disease", because it is so frequently a problem with clownfish, especially wild-caught. Although it is seen most often in clownfish, other species can suffer from infection. Symptoms are usually noticed on only one or two fish to begin with, but it can spread rapidly. Brooklynella hostilis is fast acting and can kill in just a couple of days if left unchecked.

Some possible visible symptoms are the following:

• Increased mucus production

• Loss of appetite

• Turbidity of the skin

• String-like material hanging from the fish

• Increased respiration, or even open-mouth gasping

• Hyperactivity in early stages

• Hiding or reclusiveness

• Cloudy eyes associated with secondary bacterial infections

• Faded colors or discolored areas

• Lethargic in late stages

• Hanging at the surface or laying on the bottom in late stages of infection

• Rapid weight loss associated with dehydration, as fish lose their ability

to osmoregulate.

• Loose scales

• Secondary bacterial infections
