| Right, fish shouldn't be affected by copper, but of course too much of anything would kill anything. But before it got to that level I think you'd see catostrophic losses in the infauna. Bristleworms dieing off, amphipods/copepods laying dead on the rockwork, etc.
Polypads work well at removing copper as well and also have the added benefit of turning green (I think that's the color) when copper is being removed so that gives you at least a little notice that ot's working.
Anything you use though, do not use passively. You must use it in a means where the water MUST pass through the media. |

| "Poly-Pad" actually called "Poly-Filter" ( MarineDepot)
Went thru a number of these...but they worked great.
Problem with Cu poisoning, rocks, sand absorb it and then leach it out slowly...can take a while to get rid of.
My problem came from starting out with a "cheap" pond pump for return. Had a brass fitting in it. Wiped out all inverts. Fish came thru fine. - I wound up having to change out all lr (which died out)/and sand.
Positive thing...have never seen sign of ICK in tank since. (going on 5 yrs now) _________ AG "125," AquaC EV 180, 30 gal sump, "SCWD", 80 lbs LR, CoralSeaLife "Moonlite" Hood, PFO 250W HQI Mini-Pendant (SPS HQI 14000k bulb)

I always lock up tank cabinets with a zip-tie when Grandkids come to visit.
Had a couple close calls with them thinking fish looked hungry and needed feeding.
Not giving chance for "penny" or other coin. |

| Yeah, this is a good idea (zip ties), for kids and parties. Well, thank you all for your help and support. I'm ordering the pads right now. I'll tell you how this winds up. |
