|  Colt Coral Brown Slime....AGAIN
Ok...well again my colt coral got the brown slime....ugh...i don't know what to do....it gets it, i cut off the branch then next month another branch gets it...maybe my water tests are off...everything seems to be fine...here is a pic of some egg like spheres in one of the cut branches.

Well...Ok for anyone that has fragged colt coral, have you ever seen small white egg-like spheres in the tissue of the coral? And does anyone know how to kill the damm Brown Slime Disease?!?!?! | |

Bruce,
Everything I have read about the disease says that it can spread to other corals.
Cut out the infected part and use an iodine dip on the affected coral. Make sure you sterilize your cutting instrument. It is supposed to be a protozoan that is in the slime??

Yup...for some reason it has never spread (from what i can tell) to any of my other corals...i would think one would show signs...but it has been affecting my colt on and off for the past few months. | |

Does anyone know if it is possible for the brown slime disease to actually be inside the colt corals tissue? and if so...is there anything i can do? | |

Did you do the iodine dip? Has always worked for me

Thanks, i'm glad someone knows something. I cant really do an iodine dip because the coral is attached to supporting rocks. Also the pic of that branch does show the slime, its a branch i cut, if you look closely you will see little white egg like circles, i just wasn't sure if that was normal. Right now the coral is severely trimmed...but as of now i don't see any brown slime...hopefully it will grow back quickly.

You could target it in the tank. Better than nothing, just don't use too much.
