Are the clownfish you are buying tank raised?
According to Joyce Wilkerson, Brooklynella is not a problem in tank raised clownfish.

Default So sorry for your loss.

HI,
I would try and get some live sand from a healthy tank, put a few of those snails that sift sand, they will cycle the tank as well as fish note : inverts are resistant to that brookanella but very sensative to nitrate and ammonia..
I had a nasty out break in my tank, and I finally broke down and bought a UV light that seems to have stopped it after a few weeks.
a couple red hermits are pretty resiliant If you get good live sand it will help speed the process.
Buying that really expensive sand that says its live isn't the same thing as a established tanks sand .
I usally buy bulk rock and let it cycle with the subtrate that live rock is very pricy.
I have bought 1 -2 pieces of viable live rock locally to seed my new sterile rock or base rock.
Hey its your money.
My base rock has more coraline than some of the live rock after a few months.
Doug

PS, Some petstores are really bad and sell sick or damaged fish, and I try and check all tanks in the store if one has ick they all have it if they use a common sump, some petstore will use copper to treat all new fish this is great if they allow them to complete the treatment cycle, other wise you take them home and guess what happens after 2 days and no meds, another trick is look for med codes on tanks the have nifty little codes for meds like CU 4/28 ,copper started 4/28.
THis isn't a good sign for healthy fish.
I have one store that keeps a diary on their incoming fish and I always ask how long they have had them in that tank, if its less than 2-3weeks they may be sick. here's an example they had 20 gold tangs come in looked real pretty clear eyes no ick, 2nd week they all died of stress induced sepsis, and they were treating them with meds, they were bleeding all over their bodies. very sad.
If you bought one you would think it was your fault.
