It looks unhappy, but not neccessarily dying. The green color is perfectly normal. What kind of "mucus" did you see?

It was brown and stingy to start with. Then it went into what looked like spasms where it would puff up normally andthen die back and open mouth with clear white mucus. The Damsel that had hosted in it disappeared and stayed away from it. But since it has opened up normally and looks healthy again. Is it finishing feeding do you think? Or do you think DAmsel is irratating it?

If it's new to the tank, then yes, the damsel is probably causing it additional stress. Keep them seperated if you can.

Brown and stringy sounds like normal poo. White mucus sounds bad, but may not be that big of a deal. You'll have to wait and see, unfortunaly.

Spasms? Anemones puff up and shrink quite a lot, and it's perfectly normal. The process if fairly slow, though. I think of spasms and rapid, if not violent.

Spasms not violent bad description. They were slow produced about 2 balls of clear mucus and then settled down. Sorry it is now Russells wife talking. (Louise) The anemone has gone back to normal and looks happy! Thank you for your help!

Yes, the damsel will be a problem.
Also, unless your clown is a "true" percula, it may not use the anemone as a host anyway.

The damsel will be a problem only if he still wants the anemone for himself. And there are no guarantees with hosting, anyway. True Perc. or not, the rules are different in home aquariums. About the only way to ensure that your clowns host is to put them in a tank with aggressive fish. (So they need the anemone's protection!) I don't recommend that....
