| Okay I am confused. For a tank with no sump and just regular powerheads is what I said correct? Meaning the 10x flow in your tank? I am also trying to figure out if my flow is correct for my tank specs? I have 606 gph which is 11x flow. _________ 20g
25lbs LR
1 hydor koralia
rio nano skimmer FISH: blk/white clown, damsel, yellow watchman goby CORAL: grn open brain, acan, torch, rics, toadstool, zoo's
INVERT:[/u] hermits, nassarius, astrea, turbo's, nerites, crocea clam

| | Aiptasia Anemone | my point was that you can't verify flow within a tank by GPH, it's a good starting point however. you could have 600GPH within your tank which may seem appropriate but depending upon position and/or direction of the water flow source(s), the rest of your tank may be suffering from stagnant areas. everyone constantly uses the turnover rate as an exact science in trying to figure out the flow for an aquarium, which it never is....you can add up your powerheads, returns from your sump, a calcium reactor or protein skimmer, etc. and try to assume your GPH. it's just a number, probably not the true turnover rate...as long as your tank is healthy and all of your inhabitants are happy, forget about the numbers. this is just my opinion of course. _________ |

| I have not looked in a while, but on their web site they had a video of the W2K in operation with sound. The unit seemed pretty quiet, but you could clearly hear the overflows sloshing around. Is your 65 RR? In any case you should get a LOT of movement.

| Sorry, I forgot to mention that "reef ready" means that the tank has been drilled and has internal overflows. |
