Default red, green, brown, purple, even pink

ok, i wake up and see something that may have been there all along or may have not been.

My tank cycled and all of a sudden there is all this ugly brown algea everywhere, i now have 20/25 little bluefoot hermits, 10 snails and 3 green chromies(spelling on this one). Now i see most of the brown gone and all this new color red, purple, green, and even pink and white spots too.

I also have these 2 things growing on my L/R, one that look like a ball of mould and the other growing at the base of the rock and sand level

tank is 75 gallon, 90 lbs L/R, Coralife super skimmer in a 30 gallon sump, 2 sets T-5 HI-GLO lights with both blue and white bulbs, magnetice drive 950 pump, 4 maxi-jet 600, tank is 8 weeks old as of friday Oct. 5th, 2007.

Sounds like things "happening" - that brown stuff (diatoms) will go away shortly...sounds like coraline alge getting started...all good!

I am a firm believer in regular water changes.

Read: Water Changes/Ex-changes, by Anthony Calfo

Others here may not agree.

Don't get sucked in to adding a bunch of additives.

Using Carbon is of great benefit.

Good Luck.

Water changes are a must. I also run carbon when not running Seachem Gel , I use the device interchangeably as a phosphate reactor and carbon purifier.
