Default phosphate products that work.

I finally found something that works well for phosphate control its called phosbuster it is made by Carib sea. It made hair algae disappear I used a little more then what it calls for.

I just use it when I havent cleaned my glass in weeks and I cloud the tank with green it cleans out my skimmers nicely also I added a 24x24 cube with 16 inches of sand and it has really cut down on any algae in my whole system. Now if I could get rid of aptasia I got a coral from a friend with 2 or 3 on it now I have them everywhere again I have been kalkpasteing them since I cant get a copper band to live with the rest of my fish.

While LaCl3 (Lanthanum chloride) is quite effective with phosphorus, you still need to remember to practice good husbandry so that P doesn't build up. Additionally, if you are using Phosbuster it's a good idea to siphon out the precipitate so that bacteria cannot liberate the P at a later date.

Once you bring your problem under control its a god idea to run a iron based GFO such as ROWAphos or Pura at all times in a filterbag or reactor. This will absorb the PO4 before it has a chance to bind to the rock. Not to mention with the wildly inaccurate titration PO4 kits availble its a good idea just to keep you levels under .3. Its very difficult to know if your at problem levels or not. So just keep it super low.
