Default macro algae warfare?

have not heard this topic come up, and after adding some different macro algae's to my fuge. i came across some info that suggests that macros can fight in similar ways as corals, and that you should pick one macro and stick with it.

anyone know anything about this? or had this happen?

im keeping cheato, red garcil.....(spelling), and grape cul.(going to swap this out for a diff form of culp). should i worry?

if i have to choose one macro what is the best for nutrient export?

_________

check out my recently updated tank video it will show you what i have, equipment and all!

I myself use cheato and cheato only. It works great for me no algae in tank at all. I was unaware of any algae warfare like corals. I live in California and culerpa is Illegal here. Go figure Illegal algae. Lol! I would use that if I wasn't gonna get busted by the man. I just like the look better. To me Cheato looks like a green ball of steel wool.

PM him!

I've read that Cheato and Mangroves get along well together, maybe instead of another Caulerpa you should try that. reefcleaners.org has a good special on them right now too, 5/$2.64.

i read about this in my endless researching but can't remember for the life of me where, but yes, they can, land plants can to apparently,
if i remember correctly it's not so much warfare like with corals but certain plants just happen to constantly emit something to inhibit growth in other plants

_________

Believe it comrade!

I think it may be referring to the plant going sexual, and releasing everything back in the sytem.
I have a few different algaes in my fuge, not had any problems other then it growing wild. I recently threw a load away.
