People need to be very careful with using bottled water. Fact is, is that manufacturers of bottled water only need to adhere to the water quality standards of your provincial or state water treatment facilities. What this means, in essence, is that it is more than likely that most bottled water has just as much Cu, Phos, Silicates, etc, in the water as tap water. Also, most bottles of water of an analysis of trace elements on the bottles... Read these very carefully. Some of the water bottles I've checked out have shocked me at what they have in it. There is a huge difference between distilled water and your typical mass packaged bottles of water at most stores like Walmart, Sams Club, Costco, etc. Try testing your bottled water for phosphates, nitrites, nitrates, even silicates (if you have the test kit for it), etc. You will be very surprised.

In conclusion, most bottled water is best left for drinking purposes only

i know the blue tang shouldnt be in a tank this size but a friend of mine bought him for his tank and he got beat up by the other fish since he is so small only about 1 1/4 and the lfs wouldnt take him back so he ended up at my house now i have to set up another tank for him but im about ready to move so i dont want to do that yet in turn i had no choice but to put him in my 24 but he will be moved in the next 2 months or so

If you have a TDS meter, test the water with that. Bottled water contains certain minerals that are added back into it after it has been filtered.

I didn't look at the original picture but now that I have, I believe that you're right. Dinoflagellates. Not cyanobacteria.
