Unhappy Help!!!

I have a purple coralline algae that seems to be bleaching white, and I am not sure why... I use RO/DI water, frequent water changes, dose with Kent's Kalkwasser mix, and do have both fish and live rock in my tank. Is this a sign of over dosing? Any suggestions????

That usually happens when the Ca starts to get low. You stated that you are dosing Kent Kalk mix?? Need to know what reef_guru has stated...Ca, Mg, & ALK

Sounds like you need to...

Too little or too much light. Also exposure to air can cause bleaching.

If white is spotted here and there...then you have some predator eating it.

CC star?

Anemones are also very detrimental to coraline growth.

you know what Omard, I just did a big water change, where my levels got a little low and the coralline was exposed to more air--so that push of oxygen must have bleached it. But I will be a good husband, and test my other levels.

My coraline looks like it is bleaching as well, but after investigating my damn snails are eating it leaving a bleach white spot where it used to be...
