He's never bothered fish fortunately. He can't see to well so he'll swim right up on top of them sometimes, but then he realizes that it's not a crustacean and moves on. As long as you don't wave your fingers in the water he's great, but if you're working in the tank and don't have an eel spotter, well...... 
Fortunately that's never happened to anyone in the house.
