| Well. From what I have come to understand about Coraline Algae...When your tank is ready it will grow like crazy. Simply put...dont expect much from using product that state that they will make coraline algae grow. Dont worry. My tank did have coraline growth for a long time, then one day it just went crazy. My scapper cant even get it off somtimes...i have to use a razor. _________ Tank Specs:
55 Gallon Mixed Reef

How long are you leaving your Actinic lights on for??? _________ Scott 265g (Peninsula)

I only dose 1/2 cap for my 55 of PurpleUp and the stuff is going crazy. I actually skip some nights and may stop dosing all together. |

| Transplants easy HI,
I had a few pieces of Dead rock in my tank, large lava rock and cleaned FIJI rock and took my tweezers and pulled off a tiny piece of Coraline and rubbed it on the Lava rock pushed it into the surface of the rock and over night a purple spot appeared, tried this on the top of a couple other rocks and it also started to grow.
If your in the mood for more just pull off a tiny piece and transplant it, I ve read it need strotium (SP) to grow so water conditions may be important and not to much of that green algae.

| I set up a 180 gal tank about the end of August and I used ll dead base rock and sand and I seeded it with coralline scrapping from another tank we have. I got the water parameters up and steady Ca 450 to 500 DKH 12 and Mag at 1400ppm and I added a single yellow tail Damsel to cycle with and I run the VHO actanics 17 hrs aday and a Old 48 inch strip light with a actinic white bulb since mid October for 8 hrs aday. I just started the skimmer in the first part of November..
I never tested anything except the above elements and There is coralline starting to take off now so in the next few weeks I'll finish the M.H's and start to think about corals . Its going to take months rather then weeks for coralline growth.. I have always set my tanks up like described above and i have never had a problem tank ..
In all the yrs I have been in this hobby I find the most needed element to be applied and the single least one to be used is Patcience..And in the last 15 or so yrs since the advent of L/Rock and sand the Patient additive is really lacking ..
