Our Coralline started about month 2 of our display tank. Now the tank and all of our rock is completely encrusted. We try to keep the ca and alk a bit on the high side, like Tangster. I run a phosphate reactor with Seachem Gel and have not had a problem with coralline growth...

Interesting. Might be dinoflagellates. Is the algae somewhat "slimy" and easy to remove?

Ah, then dinoflagellates it may be. If the tank is new, I wouldn't worry about it. Just treat it like you would cyanobacteria. Reduce feeding and phosphates and increase water flow to the area that it's growing and just wait it out. If the tank is established, follow the same "rules"

how can i reduce phosphates without a phosphate reactor? phosphate absorbing media and media bag in canister filter?

If you can pass water through some phosphate absorbing media in your canister, that'll do. Get yourself a bag of Phos-guard or Phos-zorb and you should be set

I saw that Tangster said not to have the skimmer on for a while. My 28 gallon has been running for about three or four weeks now, with the skimmer running for the past week. I have some coraline and red algea on some of the rocks right now. Should I not have the skimmer on now? doesnt that defeat the purpose of the skimmer? Thanks

He meant to turn it off after scraping my LR, so the skimmer won't take out the good stuff. If I didn't have a skimmer, my fishes would've been dead long ago....I dont have a sump or fuge.
