I FOUND SOME BUBBLE ALGAE IN MY TANK YESTERDAY. THEY ARE REALLY SMALL, AND I HEARD YOU CAN POP THEM IF THEY ARE LESS THAN 1/4", WHICH MINE CERTAINLY ARE, IS THIS TRUE.

When ever I remove Valonia Sp. algae, or Bubble Algae, I do one of three things.

If I can take the rock out of the tank, I scrub and rinse it in tank water real well.

If I have to remove them in the tank, I use a sharp pointed knife to scrape them by the base coicidentally with my siphon tube to remove the algae. I also stab and squirt them with a smidgeon of muriatic acid in a syringe and they dissappear in a couple of days.

HJust trying to minimise the spores in the tank from removal.

Home Depot has it. They sell it by a gallon for like $5.00. Enough for a life time!

Mix it 50% - 50% with hot water in a glass cup. It is highly corrosive and so keep it in the sink.

You're welcome. One last thought, you might want to wear rubber gloves if your skin is sensetive.
