well if it werent for this beeing a full reef tank I would probly consider the nukeing method however i like my corals and fish and all to much to shut the tank down for a week and start over not to mention if my wife got a hint that I was going to shut it down for any reason she would flip a wigg and not let me set it back up she can be a pita and a hinderance to this hobby for me LOL

I wish it had worked for this old Fart LOL It have been running all my stuff of the charts sine I had nothing else to do . Bleach is looking better to me everyday )" one little rock with a spore ..But the Bryopsis pennata is a unnatural nut to crack seems they have been even trying to freeze it under plastic sheets and injecting pure industrial solution bleach under the plastic and nothing kills the stuff. These Slugs I posted are reported to eat the poisonous weed

Well if you use anything out of that tank it will just be back again.. Look at the pictures of my reef tank before the algea started to kill all the corals.. One speck on one coral base.. I'll not ever use anything in this tank in a new tank and I'd not give anything away to be used in another tank Supposed I gave you or someone else a frag and that came in ? or a few drops of water even But Like I said you find s fix I'll pay for it.. I have watched it kill several thousands of dollar in sps corals this last 5 months .And the more you mess with it the more you will have..and Nothing alive other then a few slugs Maybe ? will eat it. But first you have tomake sure of the species you have ..j

That's a great point Roger.

Let me re-phrase.....with the species I had of Bryopsis, I've been highly successful with what I recommended in my post.

But I also nuke everything too...I start out my tanks just like Roger and Annick. I don't want ANY life on my live rock. I want to be God for a week or two and be in control of what seeds that rock.

I currently have a friend who is raising his Mag slowly into the 1800s. He is currently at around 1700 and is seeing massive bryopsis die off.

Not sure if it's the solution but it is helping. He has seen no issues with his corals or fish...Yet

J
