Default Algea Question, Sorry no pics

Not sure if we can ID without pics, but I will try and get a pic.

What I have is on the undersides of live rock is a fuzzy hair like growth. Right now it appears clear. It is fairly new and looks very light , delicate and flows with the water. It is not on the tops of the rock, just on the undersides.

Can we guess at the kind ? Hair Algae maybe. Are there other algaes that are hair and fuzzy like ?

I know its tough without pics but this is hard to capture. I will keep trying though.

\Cheers

I agree..hair algae. Suck it up while you toothbrush it! It works great for me. If you have a third hand it helps one person suck the other scrub.

I disagree, hair algae doesnt grow underneath anything, it needs light to grow. Its probably some kind of sponge. The only thing that I have ever seen growing underneath LR are sponges. IMO Luna

P.S. A pic would be best.

I am going to stock up on my cleaners again, now that snowflake is gone. He did quite a number on the cleaners.

In the meantime, here is the best I can do with the pic.
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...k/100_6458.jpg

The fuzzy growth is directly above the Shrimp along the edge of the rock.
Now the tops of the rocks are clean, this is all underneath or on the very edges. This is the longest piece, about 1" long

\Thanks
