| ALGE problem i have a serious issue ive had my 4 110 vho bulbs in my 55 gal for a bout a month now and all the sudden i have a huge alge bloom . green haze all  over glass that replaces itself in like hours of removal. i have been leaving lights on 24-7 is this the issue or is there any algea controll methods you reccomend please help |

| Re: ALGE problem what do you recomend a moon light? or just turn off i have a dwarf lion and 2 clowns *1 anenomie , the tanks has been up for 4-5 months and lights for like 3 weeks |

| Re: ALGE problem You might consider reducing the photo period to a very short time to starve the algae out quickly due to lack of photosynthesis and then bring it up to around ten hours slowly. If you have fish only, should be no problem for a few days. _________ Just tryin to recreate God's perfection in a glass bowl. 20 Gallon Reef W/Live Rock, mated pair of Maroon Clowns, Softies, 110 watts PC 10,000k lighting, and skimmer. |

Remember that you are trying to duplicate the ocean. There are no corals north of the Artic Circle.  Back off on the light and get some turbo grazer snails.
