Hello, I am going to be the Guinea Pig on this one. I have had a case of GHA for about 2 months now. I have done literaly everything suggested, short of tearing down my reef and cooking all the rocks (which I will not do). It isn't running away yet, but it really isnt improving that much. I read a very lengthy thread on another forum about tis stuff with some good results, and not many bad. I started dosing on July 18. You dose every three days until under control. Then you dose once a week to maintain. I dosed #2 tonite. The one thing I noticed was there is absolutely no "dust" on the front glass. I mean none. I usually have to Mag float daily, or every other. i read similar experiences with other people. I will keep this thread updated for all who are fighting the stuff but afraid to try this. I am scared also. We will see.

Where have you maintained your alk levels?
Did you bump up to 14 dKH, usually that helps.

I have had very good results with this product also. I was to the point of taring down my tank. So I finally broke down and decided to try a chemical. with in 2 weeks it wiped out all the algae, be prepared because if you have a good amount of algae and it dies it will release the phos back into the water so you may want to run phosban or the problem will just keep coming back.

now I don't know if your algae problem was as bad as mine, There is a pick in the algae id thread of one of my rocks that had turf algae on it. all my rocks looked like that.
I'm usually a person who doesn't like using chemicals to fix a problem but I will say this worked for me as a last resort.

I know how you feel also I was afraid at first that all my corals would be wiped out but there where no ill effects on them at all.

Thanks for the reply--That really makes me feel better and gives me hope. I am also of the mindset that I hate the thought of using chemicals.:-/

I'm using this product right now to. Like you I've tried all the natural ways of GHA reduction with no results. I have honestly lost track of the exact amount of treatments that I've done. I think it's somewhere around 6 or 7 treatments, but I haven't really noticed any die off yet. Since the last treatment this past weekend, I have noticed after manual removal new growth appears to be noticeably slowed.

I did see on a different forum that it does take quite a few treatments for results so I'm not worried yet. I have not seen any ill effects on any of my livestock as a result of using this product.
