Default How much is to much?

How much water flow is to much or is there such a thing? I have a powerhead with 1200gph and one with 295 an hour both in my 55 gallon. It is only about two.5 weeks old and the poweheads are on oppisite sides of the tank and the flow competes. Is this good or not enough or what? Thanks
