Well it certainly is designed for coils to be out of water...and as I mentioned I did, even then have a corrosion problem...but easily preventable in future...

My sump is in an enclosed cabinet so it stays pretty much at water temp.

Now if you are really an enterprising guy, expect you could run some kind of conductor from water to coil....could not have any exposed Cu in water, but could be a ceramic covered Cu plate or something along those lines...(Silver/Gold?)
