Nope, you're good. The bigger they are the longer it takes to pair normally. Trust me, if your female was going to kill the male (if one's not dead yet you don't have 2 females) then it would have done so by now. I recommend that you simply ignore the tank for a few days (more for your own stress relief than anything else).

I can't begin to express how normal that behavior is. It simply seems that you have the rare pair that takes longer to warm up to each other.
