Not really if you move the rock and or the sand there will be some die off and once that shrimp is taken care off the bacterial will die off anyways as there is less load on them and bacteria can not be stored like a savings account for when they are needed .. And when they die they consume oxygen at a huge rate and then fouls the system.. I'd set the system up get it all changed over add a single little yellow tailed Damsel to maintain a steady load and let it cycle on through . Buts thats who I'd do it .
