Thanks guys (and gals) for your help IDing the beast.
That pic was from a friends tank. He bought it from someone 3 months ago. It had been established for 5 years though at the time of purchase.
Those majano anemone's are everywhere. He didn't see any when he first got it, but when I looked in yesterday and saw his tank it made me suspicious. I hadn't seen anything like that before. He has them on every rock, at least 10 on every rock in a 40 gallon tank.
I will admit, they look nice in the tank. Do they keep other corals from growing? He has a giant toadstool and two different kinds of mushrooms in the with them. I also noticed that one of them was attached to the toadstool. I'm assuming it could end up hurting the toadstool in the long run though. What do you think?
