Lightbulb Noodles or Sponge ???

Hey Guys n Gals,

I'm getting conflicting advice from two different LFS's...

I have a setup currently going through the cycle with live rock.. 250ltr tank with 34 kilo's of uncured live rock..

I have approx 7,000 lph water movement, with one external cannister filter, a uv filter, and a skimmer which is not yet in operation.

My question is with regards to the exernal filter,
1st LFS advises using no sponges, and placing ceramic noodles inside the filter with Phosbag and Activated carbon... This is how I have the exteranl setup currently...

2nd LFS advises NOT using any ceramic noodles at all, removing them and putting in one or two sponges to act as a mechanicla filter cleaning once a week under tap water. His advice is that ceramic noodles will act as nothing more than NItrate facories.. As well as sponges he also advises on PHos bag and activated carbon too..

So what do I do.... they both advise on different methods.. who's advice do I follow ??

Please help as i'm a bit confused... only 3 weeks into my cycle so would rather get this right now before I start introducing any livestock...

Any help would be very much appreciated....???

P.S A sump arrangement is not physically an option for me..
