Default Phosphate Media??

About a month ago, I decided to start using phosphate media for to prepare for a a live stock increase. I never had a phosphate problem, and I don't want one. The only problem I have is picking which company's media to use. Currently I am using Phosban. While shopping on Drsfostersmith.com I noticed this stuff Aquarium Filter Media & Algae Control: Drs. Foster & Smith PhosPureŽ . Looks the same as Phosban, except half the price. The only thing that worried me was they call it Beta-Ferric hydroxide and Phosban calls their's Ferric Oxide Hydroxide. Is there a difference?
I then noticed this Aquarium Filter Media & Algae Control: Drs. Foster & Smith PhosPure plus Zeolite & Carbon . Ferric Hydroxide and cation-exchange resin. I have never even heard of cation-exchange resin...
So, can someone help me understand this info and so I can make a choice? Thanks..
