I have a kr@pload of these things in both my tanks. the pain in the but would be picking them out. I have found 5 at a time on my powerhead holders. I have white and banded ones, but am not sure it would be worth the trouble to collect 30 of them. Maybe if I can get them to communalize somehow. They are pretty cool. I often find em all over my intake sponges and have to pick em off and drop em in the water. they are hard!

Ha! Buy good rock and you'll get tons of them. Those things are very common hitchhikers...

I agree with the rock purchase idea, I bought some Fiji rock and did not see anything for a while but after four months my tank is flooded with these guys. If you buy fresh sub straight they are common in this as well. Bristel stars in general are aboundent in almost all oceans.

If you have live rock chances are good that you have mini stars. They are very illusive and you won't see them for awhile and then you will.

I finally saw some. They came on a rock I bought with coral on it. These rocks were covered with the things. Then I noticed my neon dottyback had one in his mouth. I haven't seen any since.
