How is that Ozone working out Birdlady? I have been thinking about investing it one also. Well, I really like the unit...it is very user friendly. Here is what I have learned this week 
The probe has a tendency to drift upwards (apparently most ORP probes act this way) so it must be soaked for 10 minutes in vinegar each week. You will see by my previous post that I thought my ORP was over 400. It was in fact, about 350.
So having fixed that, I adjusted the controller to about 360, and it is not there yet (I have it on very low cause I am paranoid!) I will probably turn it up a little more tomorrow.
I do think the water is a bit clearer....of course, it could be psycho symatic (or what ever!)
In other words, the jury is still out on what I am seeing thus far  Not enough time or use yet! _________  I Love My Sig By John Hawkins!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Birdlady I think I will hold off for a bit and wait for your feedback on yours,  And then I can have a better idea on setting it up and using it, I think I'll do a little more reading up on them before taking the Plunge. ............... John | |

To break down organic wastes and improve water quality and clarity. It can target some organics that a protein skimmer cannot. For example, the yellowing compounds in the water. It may also improve oxygenation in the water.
You can seriously screw up your system however if you are not careful. I am probably being overcareful at the moment
Ozone may kill off some bacteria and parasites, similar to a UV, but the higher you run it, the more good stuff can be killed off as well. All the way up to fairly sterile water in which nothing can live.  Not goin there! | |
