Has cleaning your aquarium made you physically ill?

I don't mean cleaning your aquarium is a pain.

I mean...

Have you ever gotten sick and wondered if it was from cleaning your aquarium?

You can also state if you have gotten a rash from a coral or fish, etc.. if you like. Please provide what you've done to prevent it since.

I picked up a wicked sinus infection this week that I had to get antibiotics for. I kept going back to a couple days prior when I took a mouthful from the siphon cleaning my big filthy turtle tank. But who knows... what about you?

most divers that spend their time on a reef handling the corals end up with the same ailment that the corals have

I have a friend who dives frequently in honduras and has "diver's rash". There's also a reservoir I used to swim in with signs posted to the same effect- apparently copepod "shells" can irritate the skin.

I recall from the herpecological days (a former hobby involving lighting and tanks) being warned of salmonella in aquatic reptiles.

Worst I've had from the salt tank is dry hands and a salty laptop.

I have had a few animals to send me to the emergency room a few times .. Had a Mantis to bust my finger once had a ell to bite the hell out of me and I have been hit by a Lion fish on the forearm and that made me a tad sick for a day or two.
As for siphoning You are not supposed to get water on your mouth (:

When I was a gear head Kid we called the siphon hose a Carolina credit card (: Pull up to where they parked the old school buses and have a cold one and filler up LOL Hight Amoco whit 105 octane (: I learned to not drink gas and then I just applied my refined technique's to saltwater .. A 105 octane is not like the watered down stuff today it burned!
