| I have two Koralia's hooked up to a "Natural Wavemaker," the thing works great!
I think I am going to add one more Koralia to hit the dead spots. |

| is it a good idea to have both a wave maker box and an overflow? since when the power is out the wave would still move, smack into the wholes of the overflow and would probably overly fill the sump/refugium.
**Just a question as a newbie to diff systems. |

Enough about that- I now have a Wave2K(center unit)working on my 125gallon reef!!!! Nice water movement and no heat generated in my water or wires in the tank!!!!!!!
| I looked at those but have heard many people having issues with the belts breaking...Have you had any issues with the belt?
I went with the ecotech vortech mp40w's have two in my 90 ... no wires in the tank, no heat cause the motors are on the outside of the glass, and the wireless wavedriver lets them both communicate as a wireless wave maker. Pretty sweet pumps and LOTS of flow out of em! |

They'd spare me some anxiety about having to drill all the holes for a closed loop system too. |

| OK, forgive the newbie question but......I have four powerheads and my return in my main tank. Five sources of current. I have parallel to the back glass a MJ1200. I have a return in the corner powered by a Rio 2100 pointed at center front. On the other side, to match the return, I have an Aquaclear C-50 pointed at center front. On each side glass, I have two Koralia-3's pointed at a 45 degree angle toward front. Total flow = about 2600GPH. Question......
Is this about the same as a wavemaker in the intensity and motion of water created? _________ 90g HW: 20g L Smp/Fge, ETSS PSw/Mag9, Ext OF/Rio 2100 RTN, MJ AC 2K3 PH's (2800GPH ttl flow), 300W htr, Gnd Prb, Denitrator, UV, PCs: 2x65,4x55 Fish: Ylw Tang, LM Blenny, Hmbg, Y-T, Ylw dmsls, Mrn Clown, Coral Beauty, Red Crs Wrsse. Is this about the same as a wavemaker in the intensity and motion of water created? | It's probably not the same as Otty's 5800 gph LOL. I think that the oscillating/changing flows that you get with a wavemaker are more natural/beneficial than the constant flow that you get from powerheads without a wave controller. That being said, I only had powerheads on my 120g (to poor for a controller at the time). I defer to the experts... |
