| Astrea Snail | Within a year, I'm sure I'll be buying one of these to try 'em out. Has anyone here bit the bullet yet? I'd rather not be the first, if you don't mind. ![]() spiral |

| Plankton | These Sfiligoi Galaxy units seem superb. The Sfiligoi website lists a Mini Galaxy and a Galaxy. Anyone know the difference? So, would they be better than the Solaris? And, what about a controller? The Solaris has a controller built in, but I don't notice anything in the Sfiligoi description about a controller for the LED. Thanks. I'm just setting up my reef aquarium, so I'm completely new at this...and this website is helping me learn. Last edited by reefer Dave; 08-17-2008 at 07:21 PM. |

| Plankton | UPDATE. I spoke to Sfiligoi and got some info... The Sfiligoi Mini Galaxy uses 2.4 watt LEDs. The Sfiligoi Galaxy uses 3 watt LEDs. The 48" Mini has 88 LEDs. The 48" Galaxy has 189 LEDs. In Canada the 48" Mini Galaxy is $2,100. The 48" Galaxy is $3500. The is no controller to dim the lights, or adjust the colour. The unit is all on, or all off. |

| KingFish | Thanks for the info Dave. I am surprised there is not a controller! |

| Plankton | Interestingly, the gentleman said controllers are not all that desirable in many countries. These units are apparently selling well in Europe and Russia. The folks there just like their lights on or off. As for me, I want a controller. So, I guess that leaves Solaris if I am to go LED. They appear to be very good units. |

| KingFish | Wait ten seconds and there will be something else out. Check out the 3reef Radar board. There must be half a dozen by now. |
