FWIW, they are made for aesthetics to enhance glitter lines with MH, not to provide water movement.

From the description, it sounds like a wavemaker too?

"In addition to creating a stunning lighting effect, the turbulent motion of the water maximizes surface area and allows for excellent gas exchange & oxygenation."

If you see it in person, it doesn't provide all that much water motion through out the tank. Although in that video it does appear more than what I remember, AO told me this at IMAC.

@ $200 if it did provide more water movement they would be much more popular, they've been around for a couple years now.

A good way to side step the issue IMO. Gas exchange happens at the surface, the only place where flow is provided.

Yeah the ACLS has been out for a while now too, but I thought they were too cool.. and it 'caught my eye' as the board description says.

Anyway, it's making pretty serious waves there unless there is a Tunze Wavebox on the other end. So you can verify that it actually does make waves in addition to the disco lights?

They very much deserve mention, i didnt mean to imply they did not... I was getting at if they performed as a true wavemaker device hobbyists would have jumped all over them for $200 and the length of time they've been out

They do make waves, but they do not provide the flow that the video leads one to believe. The overall effect is mostly aesthetic, and is very cool...but they do not provide water movement like that of a wavebox, surge, or wave2K. The actual movement takes place at the surface.

Again, JMO based on seeing them in person and talking with AO regarding them. We were very much considering a unit for our AO tank, until seeing them and having that discussion.

Understood. That's for the details. It's appreciated.

What kind of lights does it use?
