Default RK2 XF6-2.5 Protein Fractionator

Another serious protein skimmer hits the 3reef Radar - the RK2 XF6-2.5 Protein Fractionator. Or is it the X-FLO XF6-2.5 Protein Fractionator? We at 3reef are not sure. But we know this... with a food-quality thick ozone-ready plastic, air flow meter and level dial, this is one serious skimmer. Made in the USA.

I am really curious about these skimmers. Has anyone seen these in action?

I saw it at MACNA. Doesn't do anything for me. I'm not really into mazzei driven skimmers anymore. However I though the collection cup was neat. I liked the way it attaches to the body. I don't want to knock it, but it just seems like a dressed up Lifereef to me.

Since the advent of high air to water ratio skimmers that use less wattage. I really don't see much point in using them on home reefs. On the other hand the big RK2 stuff is great. When you have those giant bodied skimmers you can only fill them with high pressure pumps.
