Just curious... I'm investigating what kind of setup I need for my metal halides.

I originally was going to get this ballast:
BallastWise - HID E-B DXE400HID1

But I notice that these are double the price. What makes a ballast better than others?

I bought two of DXE400HID-1 ballast from ballast wise last week. I havent got a chance to hook them up yet though. Price was average for an electronic ballast. Shipping was a little high though, 20.00 each.

I think the only reason they are double the price is because they are for Reef aquariums

I honestly don't know. I would like to think there is so that I have piece of mind knowing I didn't spend twice as much as I needed to
