Hey nano people, check out a real chiller made for nanos - the JBJ Nano-Arctica Chiller has a 1/20hp compressor and is rated for aquariums up to 25 gallons. The footprint of this chiller is only 7.72" x 12.6" and they are supposed to be very quiet.

All of our chillers are JBJ and have been very happy with their performance.

They look nice.. I did a DIY sump instead. Might look into getting one if I ever have a nano with heat issues again...

A great chiller we use them on all of our clients systems of a few hundred gallons or less.. One of the best made out there. Very efficient Bristol and Copeland Scroll compressors and many run with R-22 .

Ditto with DLC and Tangster. I use them on all systems at the store.

Additionally, I use one at home on a 28 gallon JBJ HQI nano.

(Remember to vacuum the pre-filter at least every 6 months)

I realize I'm late on this thread, but I just bought a 1/20 JBJ for my 12G that's in a room that easily can get to 90 when the AC is off (and that's the goal here). I asked this question in another forum and got nowhere. So... What's the recommended pump size I need to loop the chiller through the tanks main pump and back in? I have a Rio 180 now but am concerned it won't have the head pressure for 12' of pipe and the Chiller internals.

12' feet of head? Your concerns are correct, a RIO 180 won't have a chance.
What size connections are there on the chiller?

This is the tiny Nano chiller with 1/2" fittings. I'm probably around 4'each way right now with the chiller straight under the tank, but I need a service loop.

It's hooked up as up an hour ago and there is a marked difference in volume.
