Hey buddy, have you checked your po4(phosphate)? All types of algae feed of nitrates and phosphates. I also have the long haired algae but its only in my over flow corner, which gets direct/indirect sunlight. My po4 is always at zero and my no3 is only at 5ppm and lower. Test for po4 and make sure your tank doesnt get any type of sun light.
