I never found a need for baffles in a sump..walls maybe if you want to try and add a refugium in the sump and not a good idea in my opinion.. As for that overly thought monster on that site we have one to build now just like it.. Why ??? the guy read about it and thanks he has to have it also.. LOL He got the money I got the time .. Me I used a simple 40 gal breeder for a sump.. It works for me.. Like Otty silicone has worked for me also on acrylic and I work with the stuff daily..But use silicone only with in a sold sump never on any acryclic that is to be used to hold water outside a waterproof box. Then you best use the proper solvents and cements..
