You can use a glass tank and then use silicone to hold acrylic in place to partition your sump. Or you can use "weld-on" to glue acrylic together and then use silicone to hold glass partitions in your acrylic sump.
As far as answering your question... Silicone will hold acrylic and glass together but if you are building an acrylic tank the best thing to use to hold it together is the acrylic glue.
