Hi Clownfish,
How often have you checked your ph during the cycling process.? Your alkalinity is quite low and is directly related to the stability of your ph. At such a low alkalinity I would imagine you may have ph swings dependent on many things such as time of day.

Is this going to be a reef tank or a FO tank?

When you say your Alk is 2.0 what unit of measure are you using, dkh or meq/L? I am assuming dkh

Are you dosing your tank with a calcium/Alk supplement?
