The only trick to keeping healthy tangs is water quality. These fish are more demanding of perfect reef quality water then many corals are. And will stress rather quickly when exposed to less.. This is the reason many label them Ich Magnets.
But nothing could be more further from the truth then this. And when Ich does appear people start treating and dipping and lowering the already stressed water quality as well as fish.
They require real highly oxygenated saturated water as well. And when Ich does appear just simply raise the water heater up to about 81 to 82 and add a few air stones to compensate for the lower oxygen levels from the warmer water and it will pass.
