You can read the ingredients for Purple Up here:

CaribSea Purple Up Coralline Algae Accelerator 16oz - Marine Depot - Marine and Reef Aquarium Super Store

Basically, it contains nothing that can't be found in your salt mix. I see absolutely no advantage to using it.
