Aiptasia Infestation Yep, what started off as one recalcitrant anemone has developed into scores of recalcitrant anemonies, and I just can't kill 'em. The Elimi-Aiptas (which I believe is essentially pickling lime) I got failed, and the boiling water injections I tried earlier today did no better. Even the ones I sucessfully injected did not die. They haven't stung any of my coral (since I don't have many) but needless to say I don't really want to do anything else to the tank until they are taken care of. So do I just keep on trying like I've been trying for months, get a butterflyfish or a shrimp that may or may not eat the aiptasia as well as my meager polyp colonies, or chuck the 300 dollars' worth of live rock and go DIY? _________ Prevent dihydrogen monoxide contamination in your aquarium: www.dhmo.org |
