I was surfing the net the other day and started at another fish board looking at DIY over flows and stumbled onto one here (which i've built one of so far to putter around with, i dont have any sumps yet but in time

). Well anyhow i started poking around this site and liked it so i figured what the heck i just started a SW tank (FOWL) after a three year break and so far all seems well in there.
I spend almost more time watching the live rock than the fish in the tank so i figured whether or not i want to i'll have a reef in time simply because i enjoy searching out new things in the tank all the time.
Right now its a 35 gallon tank with 40 lbs of live sand (the bagged kind the good stuff is obscenely expensive in my LFSs) 10 lbs of live rock with pesky anemones (the fish dont care and they look pretty in his tank and it was discounted live rock because of them). I scavenged the equipment from my fish supply mountain in the spare room.
We are going to be moving soon and after that i'm pondering setting up a 240 tank and just going with live rock to see what shows up in the tank, been really looking at Tampa Bay Saltwater's aquacultered live rock. I figure after i go broke on the rock i'll have something to watch

. But thats still way up in the air.
Anyhow more about me sneaking up on 30, 20 years fresh water experience, an interested in all ancient species fresh and salt water.
My girlfriend and i keep, fresh, brackish and soon to be SW puffers (small specimiens atm). A few species of cichlids, several species of knife fish, one tropical gar and a few species of lungfish.
I"ll be spending most of the day looking at ways to lower the nitrates in my tank. I have a lot to learn about invert care and maintence and more or less i'll be going into this as a noob with some basic idea of what to do. So i'll have a great many really stupid questions

.
Well i wont ramble on for much longer, i just wanted to introduce myself somewhat (not that i'm very good at it but heck i try

).
Be well, be safe and be happy.
