I personally think that more important than what specific temp you use is finding a way to keep it there consistently. Just about everything seems to be ok in the 77-81 range, it just seems to cause some problems if the swings in temp are too big. I would say once you get a temp where everything is happy 78-79-80 then try to keep it there. To paraphrase, large temperature fluctuations seem to cause more damage than a slightly higher or lower than "ideal" temp. My suggestion is if it ain't broke don't mess it up trying to fix it.

good advice mine fortunately stays at 77 degrees because that is what I keep my house at at all times here in florida. That helps.
