Default Please Identify This:

Picked up a 4lb piece of live rock yesterday,on it is this orange stuff.I thought it was dead but it may not be.
It was the way it looks in this picture when i bought it but this morning it had a white slime coat over it.
it is hard to the touch.i also brushed off the slim coat.was that a good or bad thing to do.
I forget the type of live rock it is but it began with a
"I" if this helps.
Any Idea?
cant find any pictures on the web of it.

The Orange Area is a little bigger than a Half Dollar
