Default Re: adding another maroom clown

If you want another clown make sure that it is CONSIDERABLY larger, this will eliminate the need for them to battle for dominance. The may pair up...they may not. if they do not i would take one out. If you want to breed them, give them a very basic tank by themselves, with as little other critters as possible. I stopped breeding clowns aout a year ago but had many sucessful clutches with viable offspring of several species. If you are really into it, may suggest this book....very good natural history, brief anatomy, and tons of detailed info on specific species , thier care requirements, and breeding habbits. "CLOWNFISHES" authored by Joyce D. Wilkerson. Its one of the most "redable" (not too technical, very down to earth) and up to date books i have found (and have read front to back) on clownfish. Also keep in mind that they are very fiesty and get around 6". My old female used to pick gravel off the substrate and attempt to spit it at me when i got too near the eggs, if they breed all other fish will be killed usually.
