Default Re: Dwarf zebra lion (feeding)

Feeder guppies and gold fish are very high in fat that lionfish cannot metabolize, it will collect in their livers and eventually kill them.

If you can get live silvesides at a reasonable price lions will eat them. Also the live little feeder shrimp will work. Both of these will be expensive long-term.

You can get a feeding stick and wave/wriggle the krill and see if you can get it too eat. As Phil indicated, it would have been a good idea to see what prepared foods it ate at the LFS before bringing it home.

There have been occassions when lions will not eat and starve to death, let's hope this isn't the case here. Get back in touch with your LFS and keep us posted.
